It is the state- of-the-art sports facility on ice. The arena features a regular size ice rink. The rights of the arena were transferred from Detroit to Plymouth in 1996-97. It houses figure skating competitions and hockey tournaments, and hosts other numerous special events. The arena was built in 1996; it is the home for the Ontario Hockey League's Plymouth Whalers.
